On the wintry evening of December 25th - ooops we mean July 25th ;-) - we hosted my favourite event of the year... Our highly anticipated VIP mid-winter Christmas event, marking the countdown to Christmas – only five months to go (sorry)!
The atmosphere was filled with excitement and warmth as the fire flames flickered (yes we brought a fire in - that's how seriously we take a winter Christmas party!), and the Christmas music classics set a festive tone. It's been a truly exhausting year juggling full time work, a business and children. We are only 7 months in, but with the Christmas spirit in the air it genuinely feels as though we have already knocked out a full 12 months!
It was such a wonderful relief to know we had a gathering of our beloved VIP Kindred for a night of socialising with shoes (and Christmas themed merriment)!
For me the event was nothing short of magical. We transformed our space into a cozy winter wonderland, complete with platters of delicious treats, a roaring fire, and the delightful aroma of mulled wine wafting through the air. All with the backdrop of our stunning shoes. Our VIP guests, whom we affectionately refer to as Kindred, were treated to an evening of elegant new shoes on red carpet and some cheeky festive fun.
After a mulled wine (or two) the anticipation was building and we were absolutely delighted to christen the red carpet with two BRAND NEW shoe launches.
These stand-out shoes were named in honour of our cherished VIPs – The Rebecca Boot and the Helen Heel by Unisa. So who better to model these shoes on the Catwalk than Rebecca and Helen themselves! Bringing class, glamour, and of course a bit (well a lot) of razz - our beautiful Rebecca Stewart and Helen Hansen brought their namesake shoes to life! Kate Moss herself could have learned a few things from these stunning sensations.
In an impromptu turn of events (and with some very game lasses) we also featured three other VIP models on the red carpet catwalk, who strutted their stuff in the latest Capelli Rossi pumps, which had been released just the week prior. These pumps were also named after three models/VIP Kindred – Debbie, Karina, and Annette. And boy did they suprirse us with their valorously fun diva energies!
The fun didn't end there - with a best-dressed battle that saw our only male guest give a valiant flash of his Christmas undies to snatch the top spot!
The laughs were strong, the mulled wine was stronger, and all of my favourite cheese was eaten by the time I made it to Christmas platter... luckily I was able to console myself with some After Eights (because it isn't really Christmas without a box of After Eights!).
This event was not just about celebrating our latest exclusive shoes; it was most importantly a heartfelt nod to our Kindred. Their and your unwavering support is why The Shoe Curator exists, and we love hosting events like this as our way of expressing gratitude. We are immensely grateful for our VIP Kindred, and this evening was a testament to the special and sensational shoe-loving community we've built together.
